Webelos to Scout Transition

It is much easier to retain a Cub Scout and have them cross over to Boy Scouts than it is to recruit an 11-year old to join. The process to follow to assure that every boy has the opportunity to join a troop is called Webelos-To-Scout transition. When followed, this proven method guarantees 100% of the Webelos II Scouts join a troop.

With bridging ceremonies right around the corner, NOW is the time to be planning the transition of Webelos –To–Scouts. The move for new Boy Scouts should be natural with no time lost in between.  Parents and leaders have a responsibility to make the move from Cub Scout pack to Boy Scout troop easy and fun. By the time Webelos Scouts are ready to cross over, they and their families should be familiar and comfortable with the youth and adult leaders of the troop, their role in the troop and troop activities, and feel excited about beginning this new adventure.

For more information about Webelos-To-Scout transition planning, check out the resources on our website: http://www.samoset.org/resources/webelostransition.php and call your Unit Commissioner for help in organizing your plan of action.

Akela's World 2013

Cub Scout and Webelos resident camp programs are offered at Akela's World near Rhinelander at the Crystal Lake Scout Reservation. Pack reservations opened in March of 2012.  If your pack has not reserved space for this summer, we encourage you to do so soon.  Sessions are filling up quickly.  Attending Cub Scout Resident Camp together as a Pack is the preferred method for attending camp. Going to camp this way will strengthen the health of your Pack by providing a summer activity you can do as a group. It also helps with retention of younger Scouts, because they see the fun and exciting activities the older Scouts are doing and can look forward to in future years.

Contact Scott Domino at 715-490-2241 to sign up your pack.  More details about our summer programs will be released in February.
