The Silver Beaver Award was introduced in 1931 and is a council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America.  Recipients of this award are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. To prevent embarrassment, the candidate should not be notified of this nomination. The nomination form is due December 31! ?Last week, the Woodside STEM Scouts Lab in Wisconsin Rapids completed a service project in which they collected “matter” to donate to the local humane society. They were learning all about different forms of matter in their module.  It's excellent to see our STEM Scouts continue to understand the importance about serving the community while tying it in with science!

Samoset Council is working on wrapping up its JTE requirements for the year.  As such we need the help of all Scouting units to help us finish strong.

• Please turn in any unreported advancement by December 31, 2017.  
• Report any service hours online.
• Turn in any outstanding youth applications by December 31, 2017.

Charter renewal is not the most excitng thing we do in the BSA. However, the process is vital to running a high quality program. Thank you for your attention to this process. Please let us know how we can be helpful along the way. Let’s work together to complete this process quickly and move on to what we all enjoy best - delivering fun, excitng programs for our Scouts.

The Samoset Council is thankful for another wonderful year of delivering a quality Scouting program to over 6,000 families in North-central Wisconsin. This would not have been possible without the work of over 2,000 volunteers.
