September is Scout Join Month!

We all know the benefits of Scouting and have seen it have an effect on our children or other youth in the community. Scouting remains the most relevant and impactful youth organization. This month our goal is to invite all boys and girls to be a part of the adventure of the Cub Scout program. All are encouraged to take a few moments and share the benefits of the Scout program with family, friends, co-workers, or others.

Giving Back to Our Vets!

Our Veterans enjoyed the signs/posters so much this past week that the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, Inc. is seeking our Scout's help again!

They are in need of handmade, patriotic "thank you" signs/posters (no larger than 11x14) to put on the hotel doors of Veterans staying overnight (between 75-100).

Flight #34 takes off on October 15th, so we will need your signs/posters by October 5th! You can drop them off at the Samoset Council Service Center once they are ready.

Please contact John Pellegrino at 715-551-1039 if you have any questions. Thank you in advance!

Safety Moment

Safety Moments are exactly what the name implies: opportunities to prepare for an activity, review safety measures, and report incidents correctly. This month features Rocket Safety.

“We’re going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship …” A lot of our Scouts know the opening of the Little Einsteins song, and many of them have probably dreamed of blasting off in a rocket. Shooting model rockets is just one of the broad range of cool activities that today’s youth can learn. The BSA has developed guidance for leaders in planning and participating in a rocket shoot.
