2019 Friends of Scouting

An investment in Friends of Scouting is an investment in Scouting’s mission and values. Through Scouting programs we are able to prepare today’s youth for tomorrow’s challenges by instilling them with character, confidence, leadership, integrity, and the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Blue & Gold Resources

The Blue and Gold Banquet is a highlight of the year bringing together pack families for a dinner and fun celebrating the "Birthday of Cub Scouting." It's called "Blue and Gold" because those are the Cub Scout colors. Blue represents truth and loyalty, and gold represents good cheer, happiness, and helping others. The purpose of the Banquet is to mark the organization of the Boy Scouts of America in February 1910 (Cub Scouts were founded in 1930).

Along with dinner, provide entertainment – skits and songs by the boys, or bring in entertainment. Include the Cub Scouts in preparation, decorations, and the program. However your pack celebrates Scouting's birthday, it will take planning and everyone's help.

Visit the Scout Shop for this limited edition Blue & Gold Samoset Council patch ($2.49) as well as everything else you will need for a Blue and Gold celebration! For supply questions, please call (715) 355-9680.

Safety Moment

Safety Moments are exactly what the name implies: opportunities to prepare for an activity, review safety measures, and report incidents correctly. This month features winter activity safety.

There is magic to camping in winter. It is one of the most challenging outdoor adventures. However, potentially extreme weather conditions, cold temperatures, and unique hazards associated with outdoor winter activities require careful planning to ensure safety.
