OA ELECTIONS

Due to the suspension of troop meetings Tom Kita Chara Lodge is offering virtual elections in compliance with the national Order of the Arrow. We are asking each unit to complete the form linked below so a member of the lodge can contact you with more details. Elections will be facilitated through a zoom virtual meeting. For units who may not be able to meet virtually, we can hold your unit election at Camp Tesomas this summer (given that 50% of your troop is in attendance).

BROTHERHOOD TRAINING

To allow all willing members of the Order of the Arrow to complete their brotherhood, we are offering a virtual brotherhood clinic. All eligible arrowmen have been contacted about the process of attaining brotherhood, which will include a presentation on April 18th with interviews handled on a case by case basis afterwards.

VIGIL NOMINATIONS

Recommendations for the Vigil Honor are being accepted until May 1. Please nominate someone online who is worthy of the Vigil Honor today.

The Vigil Honor is a high mark of distinction and recognition reserved for those Arrowmen who, by reason of exceptional service, personal effort, and unselfish interest, have made distinguished contributions beyond the immediate responsibilities of their position or office to one or more on the following: their lodge, the Order of the Arrow, Scouting, or their Scout camp

All arrowmen are encouraged to submit nominations using the form on the TKC website. The person being nominated must have been a brotherhood member for at least 2 years. The Vigil Honor is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can bestow upon its members for service to lodge, council, and Scouting.  Please help us recognize deserving arrowmen.

SCOUTING FOR FOOD

Scouting for Food must go on; this service project is too important to cancel!  We need everyone to help spread the word in their communities since we will not be placing bags door to door.  This campaign will take place from April 15 - April 30, 2020.

How OA members can help:

  1. Share the online giving options with all of your friends.
www.samoset.org/SFF  or TEXT “give food” to 844-615-4269
  2. Share the Samoset Scouting for Food Facebook event
    https://www.facebook.com/events/884919011936132/
  3. Ask your friends to share online giving options within their social media network.  Use the images in the toolkit.
  4. Print the SFF Flyer and share at your local grocery stores bulletin boards to engage the community (make sure this is only done within Wisconsin’s “safe-at-home” mandate)
